Story Time in the Gardens of Rancho Los Alamitos
Rancho Los Alamitos, a historic landmark in the heart of Long Beach, with four acres of gardens, a Barns Area with live animals, a Ranch House that dates back to 1800, and a new Rancho Center that tells the story of the land and people who lived and worked there over its 1500 year history, will host a summer reading series this July called Story Time in the Gardens.
When: Tuesday Morning, July 31 10 am – 12 pm
Children’s reading series At Home in California: Coming by land, sea and air, people, plants and animal have all found their way to California and now call this place home. Wildlife, cultivated plants and people all weave threads of many cultures into the rich fabric of our shared heritage.
Bring a unique item that represents you or your ancestors’ contribution to their shared experience. The item could be a photograph, a food item, fabric, toy, map or any special item that fits into a tote. They want to see what stories we can pull out of your bag!
The story time is recommended for children ages 4 to 8. The cost is $6 for members, $8 for non-members. Reserve online at rancholosalamitos.org beginning in June or call the Rancho at (562) 431-3541 for reservations.
