The Mexican Slow Cooker Cookbook Launch

Last week I attended the book launch celebration for Chef Deb's fifth cookbook. Chef Deb is the executive chef and partner of Sol Cocina in Newport Beach. Chef Deb served us some of her favorite dishes from the new cookbook, and like every time I dine at Sol Cocina I was in heaven.

With Sol Cocina becoming one of my families favorite new dining destinations, I was excited to try some of the recipes from this cookbook. So far, everything that I have made has far exceeded my expectations of a slow cooker recipe.

During the celebration some of my favorite Orange County foodies celebrated Chef Deb's newest accomplishment with her.

I have never been a fan of pork, and in fact I hardly ever cook with it. During the celebration I sampled some of her pork from the cookbook, and it was delicious. It was nothing like the pork that my mom used to cook for me when I was a kid, but was tender and delicious. It has opened up a new world of possibilities for starting to cook pork for my family.

Chef Deb's cookbook, The Mexican Slow Cooker, is now available for $19.99 on Amazon. I highly recommend families trying some of the recipes from the cookbook for their families. You won't be disappointed!

Disclosure: We were provided with a sample cookbook, and an invitation to attend the cookbook launch celebration. All of our thoughts and opinions are of our own.

  2. Did she happen to serve the mole negro? I just got the book and was planning on making this dish for my sons 4th grade international feast at school, it sounds delicious and so easy but I grew up thinking mole took days to prepare so it's hard for me to wrap my head around the idea of using a crock-pot and not having to roast the chilies. :)
