While I was enjoying The Great Park Pumpkin Patch with my boys yesterday, Ella and her Daddy went to the Segerstrom Center to see the hilarious comedy Exit, Stage Left.
The Segerstrom Center is not only the perfect place to enjoy a date night for parents, but also the perfect "date night" location for parents and their children. My husband and I make a conscious effort to have "date nights" individually with each of our children. I has helped us to continue to build on our relationships with our children.
During Ella's day date with her daddy, they started off the day with lunch at South Coast Plaza. There is a vast variety of restaurants that are perfect to enjoy a meal before walking to see a show at the Segerstrom Center.
Exit, Stage Left was a Charlie Chaplin inspired live performance that had our daughter Ella laughing throughout the entire show. The live action musical started with the two main characters walking around the the theater to greet the audience. Ella's favorite part of the performance was when the actors were having a balloon fight. One of the main characters came out on stage with a humongous size balloon that was tossed into the audience to throw around.
When Ella came home, she made her own tap shoes out of pennies, and started tap dancing around our house.
Parallel Exit traveled all the way from New York City to share their performances with families in Orange County. The show was written by Joel Jeske and directed by Mark Lonergan.
There is one last performance this afternoon at 3pm. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office. With the rainy day weather, this is a perfect family activity to enjoy today. The Segerstrom Center offers many affordably priced family-oriented programs throughout the year.
