Have you ever heard of the Shake Shack? It was one of my old hangouts in High School, that has since been bought out by Ruby's Diner. The Shake Shack overlooks the Crystal Cove Cottages where my best friend lived before the County converted her house into a rental property. (the downside to living on leased land) The Shake Shack has some of the most spectacular panoramic views of the Orange County coastline with some killer burgers to boot.
The weather was perfect this weekend, and we decided to end our weekend with a cruise down the coast. A cruise down the coast is never complete without us making a stop at our favorite local burger joint. Even though Ruby's bought out the popular local hangout, the staff didn't convert to the traditional red/white stripped uniforms. Instead, they still wear the traditional Shake Shack gear - keeping it authentic.
The kiddos enjoyed chowing down on their grub, and Steve and I enjoyed basking in the beautiful views. Whenever we share our old memories with the kids, it always seems to bring us closer together as a family.
Let's admit it - life can get busy and pass us by in an instant. Stop and take a moment to cruise down the coast with the windows down and tunes blaring with your kiddos. Take a stop at the Shake Shack and I guarantee you will thank me!
The Shake Shack is located at 7703 East Coast Highway in Newport Coast. Keep an eye out for it - it can easily be driven past. Also, parking can be a pain - just preparing you!
