Making Life Better for the Homeless in Orange County #BetterTogether

One of our favorite organizations to support here in Orange County is the Orange County Rescue Mission. Why? Because they help to give homeless mother's and their children a warm place to sleep at night, food in their tummies and a chance to re-build their lives. With Orange County being such an affluent area, some never realize that there are still homeless children living here that just need help for a second chance at life.

Since we are so grateful to the Orange County Rescue Mission for everything they do for our community, the children and I went to purchase food to donate this holiday season. Unilever is helping the same cause as us by donating to Feeding America. Unilever is a brand that I trust, and have been using in my home for many years. When I learned about their commitment to this program, I now look for the Unilever logo on all products when shopping at the store.

"Feeding America(R), the nation's largest organization dedicated to fighting domestic hunger through a network of food banks. $1=8 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local food banks. Unilever will donate $250,000. The monetary equivalent of a minimum of 2 million meals will be donated."

Knowing that Unilever had made such a large commitment to the homeless in America, we purchased only Unilever products to donate to the Orange County Rescue Mission at Walmart. You can see photos from our shopping trip here.

Unilever has an emphasis on trying to help the well being of Americans with their Sustainable Living Plan, which not only includes environmental well-being, but also addresses health and enhanced livelihoods.

Families can learn more about how they can help on the Making Life Better website.
